The Reading Development Booklist summarizes hundreds of great children’s books for reading aloud to your child. It also includes a section listing the first books your child will use phonics skills to read, usually beginning in mid-to-late kindergarten. This resource will guide your book selections for read-aloud and beginning independent reading throughout the next one to two years.

The wonderful children’s books used in class will keep your child excited about reading. Each week, your son or daughter will have fun listening to stories in class and participating in comprehension-building discussions and reading enrichment activities.

The Program Guide and DVD provide guidance for completing the weekly home practice and explain the goals and methods of the program. After the course has ended, you’ll continue to use the Program Guide and DVD as an ongoing resource to support your child’s reading development over the next year.
